With the new year, I’m trying to discover what I want for this blog. I think for now it is a journey, which I am okay with it. At the end of the day, isn’t that life?
For today, I am going to ramble on about a few of my favorite new things because it’s fun. Since having C, I must admit that makeup (as well as most other hobbies and – let’s be honest – everything else) has taken a back seat. That said, we are finding a new routine and a new normal which means I have some brain space for other stuff (like makeup or clothes – like I said, anything) again.
Speaking of recent changes, spending the last 17 months pregnant for eight, then breastfeeding for four tends to change the body…just a bit. Everything seemed to shift around. This led to the need for some clothes shopping. After trying on more than my fair share, I found a few new finds that have rocked my world.
The Target brand Universal Thread is really up my alley as far as clothes to wear on a more casual basis, but for work I have been digging A New Day stuff. Matter of fact, I probably need to peruse their dress pants aisle as my Old Navy ones have either shrunk in the wash or I have added weight in weird places that have now made them awkwardly too short. Either way, Jess needs some non-leggings options for work in the pants department. Updates pending on how their trousers pan out.
On the intimates side of things, I had almost none to speak of after having C because all of my parts where definitely in a different spot than previously, but the maternity/nursing bras didn’t fit either. A trip to Victoria’s Secret was not as positive as it once had been. So I toyed around with True & Co as well as Lively with underwhelming results, as well. A little research revealed that I might want to give Aerie (an American Eagle brand), so I ordered online and waited anxiously for them to come in the mail as I do not have one terribly near where I live.
They are amazing! I have had a few different kinds at this point, and some of the cups fit better than others, which I think is kind of par for the course. However, for the most part, they are some of the most supportive, comfortable bras I have ever worn. As a bonus, they are also not ridiculously priced.
That has led me to want to explore other Aerie clothing. I have ordered a pair of leggings (some of the least expensive) and they may also be my favorite of any of my leggings. I dig them out as soon as they are clean. So I will be investigating some of their fancier legging options at some point. They also have some really adorable sweaters and sweatshirts, but apparently recently had a sale and a lot is out of stock currently. I guess that will have to wait a bit. Perhaps that will be a post for a later day…a mash-up of my luck with Target dress pants (Universal Thread and/or A New Day) and the more casual Aerie stuff. Sounds very fun to me!
Until next time, have a great day and be kind to each other!
