Best Hand Lotion Ever!

Until recently I have been lucky enough to enjoy relatively low maintenance skin. It has been oily (along with my hair), but does not particularly breakout thankfully. However, in the last few years, especially in the colder, drier winter months, I have started getting these dry patches on the backs of my hands. This also worsened while I was pregnant last year, even in the summer. When I tried to put some lotions on, it burned and actually turned the skin more red. It usually is worse on my right hand in the knuckle region. Eventually it began to crack and bleed, which is not fun for anybody.

I did some initial research and off to Target I went to look for a solution. I will preface this next part with the caveat that I do not know if what I have is legitimate eczema, so I am not sure if this lotion will help those who are certain they have that. However, the lotion I ended up going with is the Gold Bond Ultimate Eczema Relief (with 2% colloidal oatmeal).

This lotion, despite being called a “cream” is thin and absorbs incredibly quickly. The smell isn’t the best, but definitely isn’t the worst. It smells slightly medicinal and it fades nearly instantly. To be honest, I would use it regardless of the smell, because it provides instant relief.

At my local Target, the 8 oz tube costs $9.49 and it is worth every penny. I do wish mine sold the smaller version because this is a bit cumbersome to keep in my purse. Looking into ordering that size as well as the big pump size so I can have one at home, one at work, and one in my purse. Lotion at all times!

For those curious about the ingredient deck, there is a picture below. However, I have little to no insight about the quality or dangers of any of those listed. It is my assumption that the oatmeal is what helps me, but I don’t have any real science to back that up.

I do not have anything negative to say about this lotion. Try it out if you are having some dry, scaly, cracking, and bleeding knuckles. It is the ONLY lotion that worked for me. The others made it feel worse. Again, I cannot speak specifically for eczema because I’m not certain that’s what I have.

Which lotions work the best for you? I would love to know! Leave it in the comments and let’s talk about it.

Have a great day and be kind!
