I do not buy a lot of makeup at Sally Beauty these days. In the past, I was incredibly fond of some Palladio products but to be honest, I just got out of the habit of checking there for any makeup. Then, I watched a few reviews for Col-lab products by both Sam (using it here … I could not find a review just for the mascara) and Tati (her review) which brought me back in to browse Sally Beauty aisles. The video that pushed me over the edge was one by Tati. She raved about the All-in-One formula, even stating that it was better than high-end mascaras.
So, off to Sally Beauty I went, to check out this mascara to end all mascaras. Is it really? We shall see, later. While in the store, I could not decide between the All-in-One and Curling formula, so of course, I got both. There is definitely one I prefer over the other, but we will get there.
Packaging & Price: The packaging is phenomenal, very similar to the Nars kind. For anyone unfamiliar with that brand, it is a matte, soft, almost cushy feeling container. Although, as you can tell by the picture, it gets dirty ridiculously quickly. Both of these cost $12.99, which is at a higher price point for a drugstore mascara. The two brushes look like so:
Formula: The formula is wet and thick, particularly the All in One. Personally, I wipe off a lot of the excess regardless of which one I use. I suppose the formulas may be more similar than I think, but the curves brush is much bigger. So, maybe that accounts for some of the perceived formula difference. The All-in-One is remarkably clumpier and it is hard for me to work with. The Curves, however, I really enjoy. It doesn’t weigh down my lashes and gives them a lot of definition, which I like.
In Action:
Final Thoughts: The formula has changed a bit since I first got them and I like them more now than initially, which is a pretty standard reaction for me — particularly with these wetter type mascaras. I will definitely use up the two that I have. If I repurchase either, it will be the Curve formula as I nearly returned the All-in-One. I do get some flaking during the day, but I’m beginning to wonder if it is my application as I really haven’t found any mascara that doesn’t. That said, it is worse with the All-in-One and it happens sooner than I remember with other mascaras. I’m not sure it is the miracle that Tati raved about, but I have had fun testing out another couple of mascaras. That, and mascara is a very personal thing. There is another one which is lengthening, but that formula doesn’t really speak to me so I didn’t pick it up. I am undecided if I will repurchase the Curves once I run out or just try another. We shall see. It does look really good in the picture. So, perhaps I will!
Have a good day and be kind!
