Beauty Favorites Makeup Mommy YouTube

Favorite YouTubers

Confession time: I spend sort of a ridiculous amount of time watching YouTube. It all began with (to the best of my recollection) two old school beauty people by the name of Makeup by Tiffany D and Makeup Geek. It was around 2010 give or take a year. Marlena aka Makeup Geek had just started her makeup company and I found her via the blog as I had also just fallen in love with makeup.

I will also admit this…my admiration for makeup has changed since having a baby last July. It happened indirectly and was not terribly within my control. Not much is these days. Ha! While pregnant, I went through a typical nesting phase during which time I wanted to clean the house all the time. That is when I discovered the little niche of cleaning videos on YouTube. It was a whole. new. world. To this day it is hilarious to me how inspiring it is to watch a stranger clean his or her house. This is along the same lines as the decluttering videos I also got addicting to while watching beauty videos.

Those are what I seem to watch the most on YouTube: cleaning videos and beauty videos. There are the occasional vloggers, but I have to be in a very specific mood to enjoy that section of my subscription feed. Even when it comes to beauty reviews, I have tired of them unless I’m already interested in the product. After a while, sometimes it just gets to be too much stuff. But that is a personal thing based just on where I am right this second.

Cleaning/Mom Content:

LoveMeg – Meg is one of the first cleaning channels I found. She creates both cleaning/decor and regular mommy content. Her particular decor style is not particularly my jam, but I definitely enjoy watching her channel for the cleaning and inspiration for kid activities.

Rachhloveslife – I started following Rach’s beauty channel, which eventually led me to her delightful mom and “regular” life channel. She is hilarious and fun to watch. I love to watch her experiment with all kinds of testing Tasty recipes as well as just flat out watching her play Sims. She previously did not have much in the way of cleaning videos but happily she has been including more of that recently, which I’ve personally enjoyed.

Olivia Zapo – Olivia has more of a health/wellness and mommy channel. As a new mom, I have really enjoyed her baby progress videos, breastfeeding series, as well as the few that have pertained to homemade baby food. Her channel is very specific and has provided a lot of helpful information for me as a new mom.

Rachel Denise – Rachel used to be more of a beauty channel, but now makes a lot of cleaning content. This is how I found out about Grove Collaborative and therefore she holds a very special place in my heart forever. I love that company and there will likely be upcoming posts regarding that service specifically. She does also run a sticker company on Etsy, if that is of interest.

Wonderfully Ale – Ale was also a great resource to me while I was pumping as she provided a lot of information about exclusively pumping. She is also a stewardess and creates content regarding that if that is something of interest. There are also some sporadic beauty and cleaning videos which I also enjoy.

Beauty Content: For the majority of these there is not much to say. I like watching them because they seem honest and funny.

Rachhloves – I love her. She is hysterical.

Eleventhgorgeous – These sisters crack me up. I have been watching them a long time and it has been interesting to see how they have changed over the years.

Katy – She is just so darn glamorous, but not in an obnoxious way. Love her!

Jeffreestar – Some people love him, some not so much. But what can I say, I like the majority of his videos. Some I could do without…for instance the “getting ready in a Rolls” or some of those others are a bit much for me. But particularly in the last few months, he seems really comfortable and happy. I’m here for that kind of content.

Jessica Braun (JAMbeauty89) – A fellow Hoosier. But that’s not really why I watch her. I just love her content. I do also really love her vlogs..even though I’m not really much of a vlog girl.

Honorable mention to Samantha Ravndahl because I’m new to her channel just in the last few months…

There they are. My favorite YouTubers. That said, this list could be different next week depending on my mood. Are there any that you think I should check out? Particularly in the cleaning/organizing realm of YouTube.

Have a great day!
